CISI Financial Planning Conference and Awards 2023

On 3rd October MASECO Private Wealth’s Co-Founder, James Sellon, attended the CISI Financial Planning Conference and Awards to present the ‘Tony Sellon Good Egg Award’, named after the late Tony Sellon, his father and founding member of the Institute Financial Planning. This award is given each year to someone who displays high values, is kind, has good moral standards and who has made a substantial contribution to the profession.

When asked about the award and the 2023 winner James said,

“The 2023 winner has been a key advocate for both the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) and the CFP (Chartered Financial Planning), as well as supporting CISI events in the Birmingham region and serving as the chair of the Cellar Club, giving a unique platform to influence IFAs in the Midlands.

Furthermore, the commitment that this individual shows in encouraging young people to enter the financial planning profession is something that stood out to the CISI community, with his vision aligning perfectly with the ideals that many of us strive to uphold.

Every year, this award goes to a standout character, and I am honoured to have been able to attend to celebrate award winner Mark Rogers.”

James has been presenting this award on an annual basis and commented after the ceremony,

“It is a privilege to be asked by the CISI to present this award. My focus for placing great importance on values and the more personal side of the financial services industry is something that I have clearly learnt from my father, and I am so pleased that the award in my father’s name continues to inspire individuals to foster and exhibit all of the behaviours that make the profession prosper.”
