Workers
Sustainable businesses prioritise people. This involves creating fulfilling jobs, fostering a great culture, upholding human rights, and supporting employees. At MASECO, we are dedicated to continual growth and the development of our people, culture, and global impact. Our guiding principles underpin this commitment, promoting fairness and clarity in expectations for all employees.
Our ethos revolves around ‘Freshness and Fairness’, offering comprehensive support to our employees’ overall well-being, encompassing physical, financial, mental, spiritual, and family health.
In 2025, we continued to make good progress across the following areas:
-
Recruitment and Personal Development
-
Culture Committee
-
Health and Wellbeing

1. Recruitment and Personal Development
In 2025, MASECO’s HR team continued to develop on career development and progression pathways to support career advancement.
Externally
-
Summer Interns: We hosted eight interns over the summer of 2025, giving them the opportunity to gain work experience, learn about wealth management, and develop invaluable practical skills while working with our team.
-
10,000 Black Intern Programme: MASECO continued to collaborate with the 10,000 Black Intern Programme to provide young black individuals in the UK with vital work experience within various industries. During the summer, we welcomed an intern from the programme who gained valuable experience by exploring multiple departments across MASECO.
-
Bournemouth University Partnership: We also continued our longstanding collaboration with Bournemouth University and welcomed a placement student whose proactive approach earned him a confirmed return to MASECO as a Senior Wealth Associate in June 2026. His commitment to MASECO was further recognised by Bournemouth University through the Outstanding Contribution Employability Award.
Internally
-
Associate Pathway Programme: To expand early‑career opportunities, we launched our Associate Pathway Programme, with applications opening for the first time in 2025. This structured summer placement allows penultimate year university students to gain hands‑on experience in US and UK wealth management, combining practical work, skills development and networking in a supportive environment. The programme also offers a potential pathway into a graduate role at the firm.
-
Pool Captains: We introduced Pool Captains to support the Wealth Associate Pool. This role enables more junior team members to gain leadership experience by managing key responsibilities, supporting new graduates and helping to develop training opportunities across the team.
-
Senior Wealth Planner-Adviser role: We expanded our Senior Wealth Planner career pathway through the creation of a new role. This new step allows Senior Wealth Planners to take on increased responsibility, supported by a comprehensive internal licensing process. This pathway reinforces our commitment to structured progression and empowers team members to continue developing their professional capabilities.
2. Culture Committee
At our firm, we understand the pivotal role that a supportive and cohesive office culture plays. To champion this cause, we have a robust Culture Committee. This is a dedicated team of employees drawn from various departments who gather monthly to brainstorm innovative ways to unite our colleagues.
The Culture Committee operates under the stewardship of an appointed leader, who is distinct from the senior management team. This structure is intentional to ensure that the inspiration for new programmes emanates from diverse levels within our organisation, democratising the process and enriching the cultural fabric of our workplace.
Over the past year, the committee has delivered meaningful impact across our people, the environment, and the wider community. Initiatives have ranged from activities that strengthen team connections to campaigns that raise awareness and funds for our chosen charitable causes.
Wellbeing & Engagement
Throughout the year, MASECO’s Culture Committee delivered a programme of wellbeing initiatives designed to support mental, physical and social health. This included seasonal morale-boosting initiatives during the winter months, firmwide movement and activity challenges aligned to Mental Health Awareness Month, and participation in national awareness and fundraising campaigns such as Movember. The committee also created regular moments of enjoyment through informal office treats and sustained opportunities for physical activity, including team sports and running groups. Together, these activities encouraged connection, healthy habits and open conversations around wellbeing, reinforcing a culture where people feel supported, engaged and valued.
Culture & Wellbeing
The Culture Committee plays an active role in supporting employee wellbeing by creating regular opportunities for people across the firm to connect outside of day-to-day work. Over the year, the committee delivered four firmwide social initiatives, designed to encourage connection, relaxation and shared experiences. These moments brought colleagues together in informal settings, helping to strengthen relationships across teams, celebrate achievements, and provide a healthy balance to working life. Collectively, these initiatives contribute to a positive, inclusive culture that supports morale, collaboration and overall wellbeing.
3. Health and Wellbeing
At MASECO, we’re committed to fostering a work environment where our team members thrive both personally and professionally. Our extensive range of benefits is tailored to nurture the health and happiness of our staff. From complimentary eye exams and allowances for glasses, to comprehensive private medical and income protection insurance.
When it comes to financial support, we understand the importance of making life outside of work easier for our team. That’s why we offer season ticket loans for commuters, a first-home mortgage bonus to help you onto the property ladder, and life assurance for peace of mind.
In 2025, we continued to build on our commitment to enhancing workplace culture, launching several new initiatives designed to support our team’s wellbeing and professional growth. Key developments for 2025 include:
- Launch of a new employee benefits booklet providing greater clarity and visibility of available support.
- Partnership with Bump2Baby and Beyond, a parental support hub offering guidance, webinars and resources for new parents, expectant parents and those planning a family.
- Introduction of a workplace nursery salary sacrifice scheme in partnership with YellowNest, enabling employees to reduce childcare costs through pre‑tax salary payments.
- Delivery of an “Excelling Under Pressure” workshop during Stress Awareness Month, equipping employees with practical strategies for resilience and effective stress management.
- Introduction of a Holiday Purchase Scheme, enabling employees to enhance their work–life balance by purchasing up to five additional days of annual leave. Colleagues have used the scheme for occasions such as weddings, extended travel, and other personal commitments.
