Manuel Valls: stop the French bashing
During his trip to London last week, French Prime Minister Valls defended his socialist government and told Londoners how pro-business he is. To illustrate the fact, he announced the expiry of the 75% tax for high earners, news that was well greeted by a sports newspaper in particular for its effect on French football clubs. Mr Valls also said he was looking to reform the 35 hour workweek and to allow shops and museums to open on Sundays. In a speech to a group of City executives Mr Valls explicitly asked the English media and some business executives to “stop the French Bashing”.
