Our pledge to support Ukraine

Each time a new household comes on board at MASECO, we make donations to three causes close to our hearts. We don’t stop there, we try and help as many people as we can, so we also donate to local charities and fundraisers such as London Sports Baseball & Softball, One Tree Planted, Just Giving and many other good causes.

Considering the horrific events unfolding in Ukraine, we all want to help as much as we can. Estimates suggest more than a million people have fled their homes to escape the conflict. Heavy fighting, shelling and airstrikes across the country have had devastating consequences for ordinary people. Homes have been destroyed. Families have been separated. Lives have been lost.

At Ukraine’s borders with Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova huge numbers of people are arriving with only the clothes on their back and what they can carry. They need shelter, food, and water.

Until the end of June, every time a new household joins MASECO we will donate towards the Ukraine humanitarian appeal directed by DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee). £30 provides essential hygiene supplies for 3 people for one month; £100 could provide emergency food for 2 families for one month. Importantly, the UK government will match pound-for-pound (up to £20m) donated to this appeal. We have also pledged to match employee contributions to Ukraine focussed charities.
