We’re proud to be a B Corporation
We’re very proud to announce that MASECO Private Wealth has become a Certified B CorporationTM, the very first wealth management firm in the UK to achieve this certification. If you don’t already know, B Corporations are companies that use the power of business to help solve social and environmental problems. There are currently over 920 B Corps from 60 industries in 29 different countries.
Why did we want to become a B Corp?
We wanted to become a B Corp as a signal to clients and the wider world that we strive to manage and operate in an ethical and sustainable way and to demonstrate that sustainability is at the very heart of what we do. We see maintaining B Corp status as a way of measuring and tracking our progress as we move forward. We want to influence the way investing and charitable giving are viewed in both the financial and wider communities, and to promote the standards of accountability that being a B Corp member represents.
What did we have to do to become a B Corp?
To become a Certified B Corporation, we had to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance and build a collective voice through the power of the unifying B Corporation brand.
What is B-Lab?
The organisation behind B Corporations is B Lab, a non-profit organisation dedicated to using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Lab drives systematic change through three interrelated initiatives; 1) building a community of Certified B Corporations to make it easier for all of us to tell the difference between (their words) “good companies” and just good marketing; 2) accelerating the growth of the impact investing asset class through use of B Lab’s GIIRS impact rating system by institutional investors; and 3) promoting supportive public policies, including creation of a new corporate form and tax, procurement, and investment incentives for sustainable business.
