Damian Barry, CFA
Damian grew up in County Cork, Ireland and attended University College Cork. A gift at an early age of shares in a US Utility company spawned a passion for investment. He moved to London and began his career in Asset Management in 1996.
His first role was at Russell Investments in London, where he joined the nascent investment management business helping to build investment solutions for pension clients and private banks in the UK, Europe and Africa.
In 2005 he was asked to move with his family to the headquarters of Russell in Tacoma Washington. During his time there he researched and ran Alternative Funds for clients based in Japan, US and Middle East. In 2008 Damian returned to London to work with Columbia Threadneedle. He oversaw a range of multi-asset funds which was ultimately acquired by Seven IM in 2014. He joined Seven IM as part of the acquisition to help manage their multi-asset solutions.
In 2019 he joined Mediolanum as Head of Multi-Asset and Fixed Income. During his time there he had responsibility for some of the largest investment funds in Europe.
Over the course of 25 years, Damian gained exposure to a vast array of active and passive investment solutions. A particular interest in systematic strategies and an excitement at the investment proposition and platform at Maseco, resulted in his appointment as Chief Investment Officer in 2022. At Maseco Damian leads the development of the Investment Team, bringing together both internal and external expertise in order to enhance portfolio construction. Damian sits on Maseco’s Strategic Committee with a goal to service the needs of US and Global clients.
