Ollie Cutting

Ollie is one of our Wealth Managers and enjoys working closely with clients to help them achieve their financial goals. He has a sound understanding of the Efficient Market Hypothesis and strongly believes in MASECO’s diversified, factor-based approach to investing. He is conscious of the tax implications of holding assets and building financial plans across multiple jurisdictions, particularly when it comes to US-connected individuals and families. Ollie’s professional aims are to pursue excellence in the field while continuing to make clients lives easier, and to continue to contribute to articles on relevant topics in the US-UK space.

After graduating from the University of St Andrews Ollie joined Ernst & Young (now EY) in London as an Associate Consultant for global Financial Services firms. Ollie spent time in the Banking and Wealth Management divisions and he was selected to take part in a six-month secondment into the EY Government team; tasked with assisting global firms and the UK Government to develop financial services strategies following the Brexit referendum result in 2016. He also dedicated time to developing EY’s FinTech and Blockchain proposition, volunteered for the EY Foundation charity and was put forward as a participant at the EY Leadership Academy.

Ollie joined MASECO as a Wealth Executive with the belief that his problem-solving skills and passion for working directly with clients would translate well into providing specialist Wealth Management advice. He trained under Josh Matthews and later Tor Flonaes while sitting his professional exams and became qualified in 2018 after passing the Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification (PCIAM).

In his spare time…

Ollie’s main passion is ice hockey having played competitively from a young age. He moved from Edinburgh to Toronto after high school to play in the GTHL, played for the University of St Andrews and later represented Team Great Britain at the Winter Universiade. He also enjoys playing golf and returns to St Andrews to play a few times each year. His weekends are typically spent playing or watching sport, settling into a good film or going to see live music around London.
