On 3 February, Josh Matthews, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, and Rory Dorman, Partner of MASECO, competed in the FT Alpine Conference City Ski Challenge 2024 hosted by Olympian Graham Bell in Crans-Montana. The City Ski Challenge comprises a weekend of amateur ski racing tailored for business executives. The event is organised and hosted by Momentum Ski, renowned specialists in curating bespoke Alpine events. Commencing in Courmayeur in 2000, the event featured 60 enthusiastic skiers from the City of London, eager to engage in amateur ski racing. Over the ensuing two decades, the annual event has flourished and has subsequently been hosted in Verbier and Crans-Montana. In collaboration with the Financial Times, Howden, Snow & Rock, and numerous others, the event has attracted a wide range of devoted attendees from various industries across Europe. This weekend not only provides business executives with the thrill of ski racing but also serves as a unique platform for networking, entertaining clients and acknowledging employee contributions.

In the Giant Slalom race, Rory Dorman showcased exceptional skill, clocking an impressive time of 00:57.54. This outstanding performance earned him the title of both Master Men 40+ and Financial Services Cup winner. Rory was also the Men’s Amateur Runner-Up and Josh was the Senior Men 50+ Runner-Up. The MASECO team also won the Open Champions Giant Slalom Team category and were Runners-up in the Team Parallel Slalom.
